He was Gonzalo Tintoré`s pupil at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona and graduated in 1887, with the fisrt prize. He made his debut at the Liceu Theater in 1888 with Lohengrin by Richard Wagner, his talisman composer. The came his dubuts at Milan, London, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, etc. He was responsible for the creation of the first official Parsifal outside Bayreuth, in Barcelona, the night of December 31, 1913. He left an important legacy in recordings, especially of Wagner operas. His performances on stage finished in 1916 (Tannhäuser in Madrid).
