He became official soloist tenor in the renowned Orfeó Català (Catalan Choral Society), where he performed best lieder and oratorio. In 1922 he made sensation with his debut at the Tivoli Theatre in Barcelona, as leading tenor in Enric Morera's Don Joan de Serrallonga, at the side of the famous baritone Emilio Sagi-Barba. He made few incursions in the field of opera, but his parts in Lohengrin and Manon, of which he left recorded testimonies, are well remembered. He naturally became the zarzuela tenor: light, fine, exquisite musician. His performances in Doña Francisquita and Los gavilanes, among others, remain the unsurpassed. He went on performing until 1953 when he retired to join again the ranks of his beloved Orfeó Català as simple choir singer. His native Barcelona offered him a funeral attended by thousands of people.

Excepcional view have Catalan and Spanish song recorded between 1924 and 1950. It includes popular songs in Spanish and Catalan languages and one outstanding interpretation of Tosselli's Serenata in Italian. All of them for the first time in CD.
