LE NOZZE DI FIGARO I ZINGARI IN FIERA L'ITALIANA IN ALGIERI IL BARBERE DI SIVIGLIA LA CENERENTOLA LA DAMNATION DE FAUST FAUST MIGNON CARMEN SAMSON ET DALILA HÁNSEL UND GRETEL LA BOHÈME DER ROSENKAVALIER |
After studying in her native
Barcelona, in 1910 she made her debut at the Teatro Colon, in
Buenos Aires, with Tomás Breton's Los Amantes de Teruel. In 1911,
she sang Octavian´s part in Strauss´ Rosenkavalier in Rome. She
performed in the United States and, afterwards, in Italy, she
rediscovered rossinian parts for mezzo coloratura. Rosina, Isabella
or Angelina came back to life through her voice. She was hailed
as a controverter Carmen on account of her composition of the
part. In addition, she sang a great number of lieder, as well
as popular Catalan and Spanish songs. The album includes five pieces from Frasquita, Franz Lehar's operetta, premiered by Supervía in Paris in 1933. | Back to Home | How to order? | |
