He
studied singing in Barcelona and made his debut at the Liceu Theatre
in that city in 1900 with Donizetti's La Favorita. He then began
an extensive international career, especially in Italy, where
he became an idol. A player of the Italian romantic repertoire,
he left major phonographic recordings. He also played in Spanish
operas such as Marina (he sang at its first performance at the
Gran Teatre del Liceu) and La Dolores.
One of
the great Spanish tenors with a very large international development
finally recovered in CD for the posterity. This is our second
CD dedicated to him and include some Wagnerian pieces and
duets with the outstanding baritone Inocencio Navarro. | Back to Home | How to order? | |
